Spring Valley had a senior duo take command as Mackenzie Means had 28 assists and six digs and Tran (Hillary) Ton had nine digs. Means is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 13 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Meanwhile, Sierra Vista got the win against Amplus Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0. The win continues a trend for the Mountain Lions in their matchups with the Archers: they've now won three in a row.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Sierra Vista took every set by at least 14 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-11, 25-11, 25-6.
Sierra Vista's victory bumped their record up to 18-11. As for Spring Valley, their win bumped their record up to 17-11.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Spring Valley has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.7 aces per game.
