The Cottonwood Colts lost against the Cyprus Pirates back in December of 2020, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Thursday. Cottonwood took a   49-45 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cyprus. The  defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cottonwood in their matchups with Cyprus: they've now lost four in a row.
 When it comes to explaining why Cottonwood lost, one person who can't be blamed is  Avea van der Beek. Despite the final result, she  scored 13 points.  Isabella Morris was another key contributor,  scoring eight points.
 Cyprus was led to victory by  Amelia Echternkamp and  Sela Ama.  Echternkamp  scored 11 points, while  Ama  scored 13 points. The  game was  Echternkamp's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was  EmiLee Anderson, who  scored eight points.
 Cottonwood now  has a losing record at 4-5. As for Cyprus, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.
 Cottonwood won't have much time to rest: their next  game is against Provo at 11:00  a.m.  on December 29th. Provo is hoping to put an end to  a four-game streak of away losses. Cyprus won't have much time to rest: their next  contest is against Juan Diego Catholic at 12:30  p.m.  on December 29th. Juan Diego Catholic is coming into the  contest on a five-game losing streak.
