Basketball Recap: George Fogo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Good Samaritan Homeschool over Tournament Opponent

Good Samaritan HomeSchool has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-36 heartbreaker at the hands of Tournament Opponent. That's two games in a row now that the Hornets have lost by exactly three points.

Several Hornets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was George Fogo, who posted 14 points and eight boards. Fogo is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Eli Shannon, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Even though they lost, Good Samaritan HomeSchool smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 22 consecutive games.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 17-5.

Good Samaritan HomeSchool wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 43-31 defeat against Tournament Opponent on the 25th. As for Tournament Opponent, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-26 victory against Great Hearts Irving on the 25th.
