BASIS - Mesa's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Joseph Frivaldo led the charge by scoring 27 points along with three steals. Frivaldo is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Cayden Plese, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
New Way Learning Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for BASIS - Mesa, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Way Learning Academy will take on Caurus Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Caurus Academy is ranked 132nd, while New Way Learning Academy is ranked 141st). As for BASIS - Mesa, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against 91st Psalm Christian School at 6:30 p.m.
