The Wawasee Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a 47-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitko. Wawasee was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Whitko apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Wawasee had strong showings from Olivia Horn, who scored ten points along with five rebounds, and Molly Beer, who scored five points along with five rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaydence Shepherd, who scored five points along with three steals.
Whitko's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Reese Stonebraker led the charge by scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was Kloe Krieg, who scored 13 points.
Wawasee has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-9 record this season. As for Whitko, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-3.
Wawasee will face off against Lakeland at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lakeland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday. Whitko does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
