Hampton is 0-4 against South Greene since April of 2016 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will host the Rebels at 5:00 p.m. Hampton has given up an average of 9.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Monday just wasn't the day for Hampton's offense. They came up short against Cloudland on Monday, falling 15-0.
Meanwhile, while South Greene put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Johnson County. The Rebels put the hurt on the Longhorns with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Rebels, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Kortnei Bailey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, South Greene got a massive performance out of Reagan Arrowood, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Arrowood has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Hensley, who went 1-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
South Greene's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hampton, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-15.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Hampton has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South Greene struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Hampton might still be hurting after the 11-0 loss they got from South Greene in their previous meeting on April 8th. Will the Bulldogs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
