While Webb didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They came out on top against the Western Christian Fighting Lancers by a score of 69-62 on Friday. Those 69 points were actually the fewest the Gauls have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Webb to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ethan Hao, who went 8-for-15 on his way to 25 points. Hao is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last six games he's played dating back to last season. Nick Wang was another key player, shooting 45% from the field to rack up 26 points.

Webb smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Despite the loss, Western Christian still got an impressive performance from Bryce Benavidez, who posted 25 points in addition to five assists and four steals. With that strong performance, Benavidez is now averaging an impressive 15.3 points per game. Another player making a difference was Jacob Bartholomew, who put up 11 points.

Webb's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Western Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Webb has already played their next game, a 52-46 defeat against Sierra Vista on the 6th. As for Western Christian, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-36 loss against Fontana on the 6th.
