The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southeast Career Tech in their matchups with Durango: they've now lost three in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Southeast Career Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Morgan Sweet. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 33 points and ten rebounds. Sweet scored a full 70.2% of Southeast Career Tech's points, the ninth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Liyah Elfberg was another key contributor, scoring five points along with 12 rebounds.
Durango's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Amarie Riley, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Riley scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Rayneria Lockett, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Southeast Career Tech's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Durango, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-10.
