Basketball Recap: Zachary Oxborrow's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Sky View over Green Canyon

Sky View lost against Green Canyon on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Sky View Bobcats fell 61-52 to the Green Canyon Wolves. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sky View's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zachary Oxborrow, who went 8 for 15 on his way to 19 points. The dominant performance gave Oxborrow a new career-high in points. Easton Mills was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Sky View smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Green Canyon's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jude Haigh, who went 8 of 15 en route to 24 points. Haigh's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Boston Horman, who went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and five boards.

Sky View's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Green Canyon, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Bear River the next time they take the court. Green Canyon will host Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Sky View will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
