Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Defeat Ends Pieper's Winning Streak

After a string of six wins, Pieper's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 52-45 to the Boerne-Champion Chargers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Warriors this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-58 back in November.

Despite the loss, Pieper still got an impressive performance from MAYSON THOMAS, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. THOMAS's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. PORTER JENSEN was another key player, going 5 for 7 on his way to 10 points and five rebounds.

Pieper's defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5. As for Boerne-Champion, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-3.

Pieper didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-52 win against Alamo Heights on the 20th. As for Boerne-Champion, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-43 loss against New Braunfels on the 20th.
