In what's become a running theme this season, the Clinton Red Devils gave their fans yet another huge victory on Tuesday. They breezed by Union County on the road to the tune of 72-21. Clinton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Mylayja Thompson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 steals. She hasn't dropped below two steals for 11 straight games. Bryanna Belton was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with four steals.
The victory was the seventh in a row for Clinton, bringing their record for this year to 15-5. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points per game. As for Union County, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
Clinton will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Union County, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chester at 6:15 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Chester is ranked 253rd, while Union County is ranked 255th).
