The Quad Cities Christian Eagles came tearing into Friday's game with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 61-24 victory over Pathway Christian. Quad Cities Christian has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 31 points or more this season.
Leading Quad Cities Christian to victory were Cobie Becker-Paradiso and Seth Karl. Becker-Paradiso scored 17 points along with two blocks, while Karl scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals. Becker-Paradiso has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Madden, who scored six points.
Pathway Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Denver Nelson, who scored five points along with four steals, and Ryker Miller who scored ten points.
Quad Cities Christian pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24 points. As for Pathway Christian, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quad Cities Christian will take on East Moline United at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. East Moline United presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Quad Cities Christian in Illinois (East Moline United is ranked 124th, while Quad Cities Christian is ranked 300th). Pathway Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Galesburg Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
