The Canyon Hills Rattlers will head out to take on the West Hills Wolf Pack at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Canyon Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so West Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Canyon Hills came out on top against University City on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Rattlers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 victory over the Centurions. The win was familiar territory for the Rattlers, who have now won three matches in a row.

Natalye Debus made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one run and one double.
Debus wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Karalyne Tabada, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, West Hills hadn't done well against Santana recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wolf Pack walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Sultans. That's two games straight that the Wolf Pack have won by exactly three runs.
Like Canyon Hills, West Hills also got a great game from a two-way player: Gianna Burgin. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up five earned runs off seven hits. Burgin was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, West Hills let Reegan Veltre and Katy Spargo run wild. Veltre went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Spargo went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Amber Foley, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
West Hills has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games. As for Canyon Hills, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-7.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Canyon Hills has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like West Hills struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Canyon Hills came out on top in a nail-biter against West Hills in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Rattlers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolf Pack turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
