The Revere Minutemen will head out on the road to face off against the Norton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Revere got themselves on the board against Roosevelt, but Roosevelt never followed suit. They were the clear victor by a 26-0 margin over the Rough Riders. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Revere just coasted through the last quarter.
Meanwhile, Norton put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Ravenna with a sharp 39-16 win. Given Norton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Ravenna is ranked 468th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Norton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Noah Willig, who picked up 106 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Thomas Hoffman was in the mix too, providing Norton with two touchdowns.
The victory makes it two in a row for Revere and bumps their season record up to 5-5. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Copley and 4-6 Roosevelt. As for Norton, their victory was their 11th straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 11-0.
