The Mangum Tigers will take on Sentinel at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Mangum's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Sentinel has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
Mangum's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Cache. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by seven runs or more this season.
Derek Hamon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Mangum let Beau Rogers and Max Richardson run wild. Rogers went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI, while Richardson went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That double was Richardson's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jackson Brooks, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.
Mangum always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cache only posted an OBP of .231.
Meanwhile, Sentinel didn't have quite enough to beat Mooreland on Friday and fell 7-5. That's two games in a row now that Sentinel has lost by exactly two runs.
Mavrick Sanders and Dayson Corbin did some serious damage despite the final result: Sanders went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases and three runs, while Corbin went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two doubles, and one run. Rylen Larsen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and two RBI.
Mangum's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Sentinel, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Sentinel's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mangum hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .357. It's a different story for Sentinel, though, as they've only averaged .241. Will they be able to contain Mangum's hitters?
Mangum came out on top in a nail-biter against Sentinel in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sentinel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
