The Booker T. Washington Mighty Bookers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Maury Commodores at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Booker T. Washington is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Booker T. Washington ended up a good deal behind Granby and lost 56-42.
Maury posted their biggest win since December 15, 2023 on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 58-37 margin over Oscar Smith. The victory was just what Maury needed coming off of a 70-42 defeat in their prior match.
Maury's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arianna Owens, who scored 15 points. Owens continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyla Brown, who scored 12 points.
Booker T. Washington bumped their record down to 2-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Maury, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7.
Everything came up roses for Booker T. Washington against Maury when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 45-14 victory. Does Booker T. Washington have another victory up their sleeve, or will Maury turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
