The North Rockland Raiders are taking a road trip to square off against the John Jay Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Rockland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
On Saturday, North Rockland got the win against Warwick by a conclusive 14-2. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matches by seven runs or more this season.
Eyen Rosario tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits.

At the plate, Tyler Prisco and Derek Leitner did most of the damage at the plate: Prisco got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Leitner went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Those four RBI gave Prisco a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gabe Reyes, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.
North Rockland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, John Jay put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Arlington.
John Jay also got a great performance from Landon Seipp as he struck out six batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Seipp has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Marc Cretara was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two runs. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Vitale, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
North Rockland is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for John Jay, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-0.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. North Rockland has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .476. However, it's not like John Jay struggles in that department as they've averaged .433. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
North Rockland might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from John Jay when the teams last played back in May of 2023. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
