Softball Recap: Portageville Wins Going Away Against Dexter

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against South Pemiscot, Portageville was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Dexter Bearcats as they made off with a 19-9 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Avery Presley was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Albritton, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Portageville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.

Portageville's victory bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Dexter, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-14.

As of now, neither Portageville nor the Bearcats have any future games scheduled.
