The Plateau Valley Cowboys''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Elbert 46-44. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Virgil james Kuper, who rushed for 225 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also picked up 65 receiving yards. Devon Ealey was another key contributor, picking up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Elbert still got an impressive performance from Logan LaFollette, who rushed for 202 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also threw for 204 yards and a touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Dooley, who gained 70 total yards and a touchdown.
Plateau Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Elbert, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.
Plateau Valley will be playing at home against West Grand at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. West Grand will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line. Elbert does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
