The Elizabeth Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Marquez Gladiators at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Elizabeth has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Marquez will arrive with five straight wins.
Elizabeth pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 66-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Maywood CES.
Meanwhile, Marquez's game on Monday was all tied up 21-21 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top against Walnut by a score of 53-44.
It was another big night for Lamont White Jr, who scored 31 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elyjah Staples, who scored six points along with nine rebounds and six blocks.
Elizabeth now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Marquez, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.
Elizabeth lost to Marquez on the road by a decisive 80-66 margin in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can Elizabeth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
