Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheyenne-Eagle Butte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tiana Johnson, who scored 24 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Mariah Buffalo-halfred, who scored 17 points along with two steals.
Todd County has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, their victory ended a 11-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Todd County will square off against Pine Ridge at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Cheyenne-Eagle Butte won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Francis Indian at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (St. Francis Indian is ranked 145th, while Cheyenne-Eagle Butte is ranked 142nd).
