There's no place like home for the Tishomingo County Braves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Belmont 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Belmont saw an underclassman step up: Khalil Luster dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Luster is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ty Ramsey, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Tishomingo County's win bumped their record up to 10-13. As for Belmont, their loss dropped their record down to 14-7.
Tishomingo County will be playing at home against Shannon at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Belmont, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Red Bay at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th.
