Rochester was the victim of a rough 63-43 loss at the hands of Centennial on Friday. While losing is never fun, Rochester can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 391st, while Centennial is ranked 67th).
Rochester lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Cox, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jack Melton, who scored eight points.
Rochester's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-5. As for Centennial, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Rochester won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on December 16th. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to face off against Kankakee at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Kankakee will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
