The Becker Bulldogs were the 92-57 winner over the Monticello Magic when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Becker fell 71-61 to Monticello on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Sawyer Brown, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds. Brown hasn't dropped below 15points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kyan Blomquist, who scored 18 points.
This is the second loss in a row for Becker and nudges their season record down to 9-6. As for Monticello, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Becker will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Chisago Lakes Area at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Minnesota (Chisago Lakes Area is ranked 143rd, while Becker is ranked 146th). As for Monticello, they will head out on the road to challenge Zimmerman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Zimmerman is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
