The Canyon del Oro Dorados scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Flowing Wells 71-23 at home. Canyon del Oro has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matches by 20 points or more this season.
Will Dixion was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Canyon del Oro's points. Another player making a difference was Mykael Nunez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Canyon del Oro's victory bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Flowing Wells, they are on a 18-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-18.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Canyon del Oro will take on Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pueblo will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while Canyon del Oro is ranked 76th). Flowing Wells on the road again on Tuesday and play against Salpointe Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Hopefully Salpointe Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Wednesday.
