After three games on the road, Rush-Henrietta is heading back home. They will take on the Penfield Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Rush-Henrietta's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests.
On Wednesday, everything came up roses for Rush-Henrietta on the road against Churchville-Chili as the team secured a 84-52 victory. Given Rush-Henrietta's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Churchville-Chili is ranked 434th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Rush-Henrietta can attribute much of their success to Avery Council, who scored 19 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, and Jalen Taggart, who scored 31 points along with eight rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Taggart has scored at least a third of Rush-Henrietta's points. Another player making a difference was Myles Collins-Howard, who scored seven points.
Meanwhile, Penfield put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Gates Chili with a sharp 76-53 victory. Penfield pushed the score to 62-36 by the end of the third, a deficit Gates Chili cut but never quite recovered from.
Rush-Henrietta pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.3 points per game. As for Penfield, their victory bumped their record up to 6-0.
Rush-Henrietta opened the new year with a less-than-successful 74-62 defeat to Penfield. Will Rush-Henrietta have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
