The Fayette Academy Vikings's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on Regents with a sharp 51-26 victory. That's another feather in the cap for Fayette Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Fayette Academy found their leader in underclassman Clay Anderson, who scored 21 points. Anderson continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kahne Dozier, who scored seven points along with eight rebounds.
Fayette Academy pushed their record up to 8-9 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Regents, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fayette Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against University School of Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. University School of Jackson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Fayette Academy in Tennessee (University School of Jackson is ranked 92nd, while Fayette Academy is ranked 310th). Regents' road trip will continue as they head out to face Lafayette at 11:45 a.m. on January 13th.
