After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Terry Sanford, Jack Britt was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Oscar Smith Tigers. Considering the Buccaneers have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Cale Strickland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Alex Jones, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

Jack Britt has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for Oscar Smith, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season.

Jack Britt has already played their next game, a 12-7 defeat against Lee County on the 15th. As for Oscar Smith, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 victory against Pine Forest on the 15th.
