The Pen Argyl Green Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Northern Lehigh Bulldogs at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Pen Argyl came up short against Saucon Valley and fell 43-35. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Pen Argyl in their matchups with Saucon Valley: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite their loss, Pen Argyl saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Martini, who scored eight points along with ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Soos, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Even though they lost, Pen Argyl smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Northern Lehigh's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 70-45 defeat at the hands of Saucon Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Northern Lehigh has suffered since December 8, 2023.
Pen Argyl's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Northern Lehigh, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-10.
Everything came up roses for Pen Argyl against Northern Lehigh in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 65-30 win. Will Pen Argyl repeat their success, or does Northern Lehigh have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
