This season hasn't been kind to the Norfolk Panthers, who are still winless after their fourth match. They fell to Elkhorn South 59-53. Norfolk lost against Elkhorn South in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 49-48 score last time.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Skylar Indra, who scored 15 points. Indra scored a full 28.3% of Norfolk's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tasha Eisenhauer, who scored 11 points.
Elkhorn South's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexa Eddie led the charge by scoring 15 points along with 8 rebounds. Mollie Probasco was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with 6 rebounds.
Norfolk's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Elkhorn South, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Norfolk will head out on the road to face off against Fremont at 5:45 p.m. on Friday. As for Elkhorn South, they will be playing at home against Millard West on Thursday. Millard West knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Elkhorn South likes a good challenge.
