Softball Recap: Northern Nash Has No Trouble Against Fike

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southern Nash, Northern Nash was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Fike Demons with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Kasey Burden spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Emily Clay was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Hayley Moss was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Northern Nash is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. Fike dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Northern Nash will welcome Rocky Mount at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fike, they are taking a road trip to square off against East Wake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Wake's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Fike's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
