The Shenandoah Mustangs scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Monday. They came out on top against Jefferson by a score of 69-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Jefferson's loss came despite strong showings from Grace Strong and Taryn Gant. Strong dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Gant scored 14 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Strong has scored all season. Demi Pane was another key contributor, scoring six points along with two steals.
Shenandoah now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Jefferson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-14.
Shenandoah will head out on the road to challenge the Tigers on Thursday. As for Jefferson, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Lynx at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. Lincoln presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Yellowjackets in Iowa (the Lynx are ranked 132nd, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 309th).
