The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They pulled ahead with a 59-58 photo finish over West Stanly. The victory was just what Forest Hills needed coming off of a 56-36 loss in their prior match.
Forest Hills' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amari Melton led the charge by scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds. Joshua Rivera was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
The win got Forest Hills back to even at 10-10. As for West Stanly, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Forest Hills' homestand continues as they prepare to take on Central Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 9th. Central Academy is coming into the contest with eight straight losses on the road, meaning Forest Hills will have to defend against a team hungry for a victory. As for West Stanly, they will challenge Anson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West Stanly has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 327 points over their last five matchups.
