The Coldwater Cavaliers will be taking part in a tournament against the Lincolnview Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lincolnview took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Coldwater, who comes in off a win.
On Thursday, Coldwater made easy work of Minster and carried off a 3-0 win.
While Coldwater won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-23.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Lincolnview and Miller City, and Miller City kept the tradition alive. The Lancers lost 3-0 to the Wildcats on Saturday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since September 20th.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-13, 25-14.
Coldwater will need to focus on slowing down Beth Hughes, one of several Lincolnview players who made an impact when they last played. She had 12 digs and three assists. Hughes is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played.
Lincolnview's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Coldwater, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Coldwater hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 4.3 blocks per game. It's a different story for Lincolnview, though, as they've been averaging only 1.6 blocks. Given Coldwater's sizable advantage in that area, the Lancers will need to find a way to close that gap.
