Timberline is on a four-game streak of home losses, Genesee a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Timberline Spartans will take on the Genesee Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Last Tuesday, it was a hard-fought contest, but Timberline had to settle for a 47-44 defeat against Highland.
While Genesee couldn't quite beat Clearwater Valley on Wednesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point defeat they were dealt on Friday. Genesee fell just short of Clearwater Valley by a score of 72-69. Genesee has not had much luck with Clearwater Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Genesee got a solid performance out of Seth Vestal, who went 6 for 14 from beyond the arc en route to 32 points and 0 assists. Vestal also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. Noah Bollman was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Timberline has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Genesee, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-19.
Everything came up roses for Timberline against Genesee in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 56-29 win. Will Timberline repeat their success, or does Genesee have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
