6A District 6 recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 6A District 6 this week, Simon Kenton beat Dixie Heights 19-14. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Ryle lost to Campbell County 40-7 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Simon Kenton's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brenan Kuntz threw for 111 yards and Logan Winkler had 58 yards receiving. On the ground Travis Bryson chipped in 40 yards. Grant Wassom helped Simon Kenton's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 30 yards.
Kuntz put up the best numbers in passing as jeff marksberry's team beat the Colonels. Kuntz's favorite target this week was Winkler, who caught 7 passes for 58 yards.
Simon Kenton's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Kuntz has thrown for 1,778 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while Wassom has 40 catches for 611 yards. Kuntz also leads the league in rushing with 658 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Dixie Heights takes on the Raiders. At the moment, David Brossart's team is in second, while Ryle is in fourth.
The Camels led 6A District 6 in scoring this week by notching 40 points on Bryson Warner's team.
