Basketball Game Preview: West Wendover Wolverines vs. Incline Highlanders

West Wendover has won 23 straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Incline has won 23 straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The West Wendover Wolverines will host the Incline Highlanders at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Wendover is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Silver Stage: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that West Wendover blew Silver Stage out of the water with a 67-32 final score. With the Wolverines ahead 41-16 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Adryan Carlos was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards. His afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Estaban Correa, who posted eight points in addition to six assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Incline over Oasis Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Incline blew Oasis Academy out of the water with an 82-19 final score. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Highlanders had established a 52 point advantage.

West Wendover is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season. As for Incline, their win bumped their record up to 18-5.

West Wendover lost to Incline at home by a decisive 60-44 margin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Incline's Tommy Williams, who almost dropped a triple-double on 33 points, 13 rebounds, and nine steals. Now that West Wendover knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time? There's only one way to find out.
