If the Lafayette Rams were riding high off their 77-27 takedown of the Smithfield Packers last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Lafayette fell just short of Jamestown by a score of 48-45. Lafayette has struggled against Jamestown recently, as their match on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Lafayette lost, one person who can't be blamed is Dynasti Pierce. Despite the final result, she scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Pierce is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Charity, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Lafayette's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Jamestown, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 14-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lafayette will take on York at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. York is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home. As for Jamestown, they will head out on the road to take on Warhill at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Warhill is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
