Baseball Recap: Dunnellon Comes Up Short

Dunnellon and Vanguard squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Dunnellon had to settle for second. They fell 6-2 to the Knights. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Brody Roland made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Dunnellon's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-1 (and 8-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Fontanez, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Dunnellon's defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Vanguard, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Dunnellon nor Vanguard have any future games scheduled.
