The Manchester Squires''s game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-19 victory over Whitko on the road. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Manchester's six-point performance the contest before.
Manchester found their leader in underclassman Reiss Gaerte, who rushed for 311 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.0 yards per carry. Logan Eastgate was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Several Wildcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Smith, who rushed for 86 yards and two touchdowns.
Manchester's win bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Whitko, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.
Manchester will be playing in front of their home fans against Central Noble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (Central Noble is ranked 253rd, while Manchester is ranked 262nd). Whitko does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
