Martinsville is on a four-game streak of home losses, Ramsey a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Martinsville Bluestreaks will be home for the holidays to greet the Ramsey Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Martinsville comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 72-22, which was the final score in Martinsville's tilt against Cairo on Friday.
Meanwhile, Ramsey came up short against Farina South Central on Thursday and fell 57-50. Ramsey has not had much luck with Farina South Central recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jenni Mezo, who scored 15 points along with 5 rebounds. She scored a full 30% of Ramsey's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Micah Greenwood was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
The losses dropped Martinsville to 0-8 and Cairo to 5-7.
Martinsville might still be hurting after the 45-25 defeat they got from Ramsey when the teams last played back in December of 2022. Will Martinsville have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
