The Lassen Grizzlies scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 69-26 victory over McDermitt at home. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Lassen as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lassen to victory, but perhaps none more so than Julian Guintu, who scored 11 points. Guintu also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Cameron Wattenburg, who scored 11 points.
McDermitt lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eli Northrup, who scored five points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Shandon Camas, who scored eight points.
Lassen's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for McDermitt, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lassen won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Quincy at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. Quincy is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak. McDermitt won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on December 16th.
