Baseball Game Preview: Mark Keppel Aztecs vs. El Monte Lions

Mark Keppel is on a six-game streak of home losses, and El Monte an 11-game streak of away losses dating back to last season. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Mark Keppel Aztecs will look to defend their home field against the El Monte Lions at 3:30 p.m. Mark Keppel has given up an average of 9.5 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.

Things were looking good for Mark Keppel after they put the first points on the board on Monday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 11-8 to Alhambra.

Mark Keppel saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Julian Beltran, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave Beltran a new career-high. Another was Jovanni Frescas, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, El Monte came up short against Rio Hondo Prep on Friday, falling 12-2.

Mark Keppel's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for El Monte, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
