Trinity is 0-10 against Wheatmore since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Wheatmore took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Trinity, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Trinity turned things around against Thomasville on Tuesday. They came out on top against Thomasville by a score of 16-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). Trinity's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
McKinley Butcher made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Butcher was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Trinity let Abigail Rebert and Amy Drawert run wild. Rebert went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs, while Drawert got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Drawert a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlie Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Wheatmore scored first but ultimately less than Gray Stone Day in their matchup on Monday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 7-6.
Kyndal Kindley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Lylah Gower was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Wheatmore's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Trinity, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5.
Tuesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Trinity has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Wheatmore struggles in that department as they've averaged .451. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Trinity suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Wheatmore in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
