Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Wilkinson County Christian Academy walked away with it. They put the hurt on the Briarfield Academy Rebels with a sharp 10-4 victory on Monday. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by six runs or more this season.

Tucker Freeman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He is becoming a predictor of Wilkinson County Christian Academy's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is undefeated (and 6-10 when he doesn't). Freeman was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. That's the most runs he has posted since April 3rd.

Freeman wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Sessions, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs. Wilkinson County Christian Academy is 5-2 when Sessions posts two or more runs, but 7-8 otherwise.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive matchups.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Briarfield Academy, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-6.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
