After flying high against the Hillsboro Hiltoppers last Saturday, the Litchfield Purple Panthers came back down to earth. Litchfield took a 74-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Civic Memorial on Tuesday. Litchfield was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Civic Memorial apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2019.
Despite the loss, Litchfield still got an impressive performance from Victor Mcgill, who scored 23 points along with seven assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Aj Odle, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Litchfield's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Civic Memorial, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-12.
Litchfield will be playing at home against Roxana at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Roxana focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Tuesday. Civic Memorial's road trip will continue as they head out to face Marquette Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Marquette Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Civic Memorial in Illinois (Marquette Catholic is ranked 159th, while Civic Memorial is ranked 410th).
