Baseball Recap: Calvary Day School Beats Westchester Country Day for Their Fourth Straight Win

Calvary Day School waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 20-17 win over the Westchester Country Day Wildcats. With that victory, the Cougars brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.

Patrick Reynolds and Kaden Christian were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Reynolds tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Christian tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. Calvary Day School is undefeated when Christian allows three or fewer hits, but 4-6 otherwise. At the plate, Reynolds scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Christian went 1-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. The dominant performance also gave Reynolds a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Calvary Day School let Matthew Harrell and Austin Setliff run wild. Harrell scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Setliff scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Setliff a new career-high. Jake Parnell also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Calvary Day School always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .628. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Calvary Day School now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Westchester Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Calvary Day School didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 21-4 win against Parkland on the 16th. Hopefully Westchester Country Day payed attention to the Cougars' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
