Mid-Lakes recap Oct. 30, 2012
Strafford led Mid-Lakes in scoring this week after putting up 65 points on Cuba. Jacob Wade threw for 77 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 18 yards in the win.
Skyline's dynamic duo of Dalyn Trippe and Travis Timmerman proved tough for Rich Hill to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Trippe threw for 156 yards and three touchdowns and Timmerman had 82 yards receiving. Tyler Curts helped Skyline's passing attack out by catching three balls for 36 yards.
Jacob Eden made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Indians bested the Wildcats. The 5-foot-3 strong safety recorded one fumble.
Logan Allred was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 18 carries, he ran for 198 yards as Ash Grove beat the Tigers. Teammate Austin Hurst added to the ground attack by rushing for 156 yards.
Strafford's Wade and Dallas Hester have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wade has thrown for 1843 yards this season, while Hester, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 25 catches for 610 yards. Skyline's Logan Bryan leads the league in rushing yards with 1492.
Entering into this week's contest against Liberty, Wade is short just 157 passing yards to break 2,000 on the season.
The Pirates made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,896 from 9,715. The improvement was the result of 61-34 victory over El Dorado Springs last week.
