Given Ridgecroft's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while Crossroads Christian is ranked 99th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Ridgecroft was led to victory by Makenzie Slaughter and Hannah Slaughter. Slaughter scored 21 points along with eight assists and five rebounds, while Slaughter scored 22 points along with three steals. The match was Slaughter's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kate Chamblee was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Ridgecroft's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-0. As for Crossroads Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 8-3.
