The Pennington Red Raiders are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Hill School Rams. Pennington was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Hill School. Pennington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hill School apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Hill School was led to victory by Lily Soller and Sammie Faella. Soller scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Faella scored 22 points along with five rebounds. Lilly Hebert was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Pennington has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season. As for Hill School, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-11.
Pennington will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Stuart Country Day at 4:00 p.m. on January 23rd. As for Hill School, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Lawrenceville School at 6:00 p.m.
